CBS News is seeking a Writer-Producer-Editor for its Newspath unit at its Washington, D.C. bureau. This department generates content for the network's 200+ affiliates around the country and international partners, featuring breaking news and investigative reports, as well as health, consumer and entertainment topics.
This is an opportunity to cover political news as well as a broad range of national and international stories in a fast-paced professional newsroom. You will work closely with an outstanding team of correspondents around the country, under the supervision of an experienced staff of senior producers. Responsibilities include writing smart, concise scripts under deadline/pressure and editing pieces on Avid. Producers are also encouraged to pitch original story ideas, developing first class content through all stages of production - from research, to field producing to scripting, to final edit.
Membership in the Writers Guild of America and the IBEW
