Job Summary

This entry level position is headquartered in OSU Agricultural Communication Services. This individual will be responsible for gathering footage of live educational events and editing them into the final product. In addition, the successful candidate will work with the senior producer/director and marketing team to create engaging educational and promotional videos, primarily for use on YouTube and other social media platforms. The individual must have excellent communication skills and be a self-starter, as well as be able to lift and carry the necessary video equipment. Some travel required.

This is a 12 month position

This is an non exempt position (which indicates that the position is not exempt from overtime pay/comp or personal time accrual). Regular office hours are 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00 p.m. According to OSU policy, a 40-hour workweek is considered minimal for non exempt staff and you are expected to work hours in excess of 40 hours per week when the work load requires additional hours (to include some early mornings, evenings and/or weekends).

May require occasional travel within DASNR's field locations. Travel budget provided.

Position Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's in Broadcast, electronic media, or media-related field

Six-months proven experience required (two years preferred) with nonlinear editing software, such as Final Cut Pro X. Additional experience with graphics programs such as Photoshop, After Effects and Motion preferred. Demonstrated experience with broadcast quality video camera and audio equipment in a field environment, as well as coordinating and recording live video events.

Valid driver's license.

Nonlinear editing, audio production and videography. Strong creativity and visual storytelling skills. Good interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience in multimedia graphics and animation preferred.
