Job Description:

CSRA has partnered with NASA to consolidate select Procurement, Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology activities from the ten NASA Centers into a single shared services center located at Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi.

The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) mission is to provide timely, accurate, high quality, cost-effective, and customer focused support for selected NASA business and technical services.

CSRA has an opportunity at the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) for an HR Specialist Technical Writer/Editor to contribute to our success in the areas of Senior Executive Services (SES), SES Candidate Development Program (CDP), Presidential Rank Awards, Development of Information Materials, General Employment Inquiries, and Employee Notices for NASA. This will be a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

Candidates must be able to write and edit all types of documentation to include resume-type statements, desk guides, instruction manuals, requirements documents, employee notices, award nominations, letters, general employment inquiry responses, etc.

Candidates must possess excellent interviewing skills as they will work with high-level personnel to prepare the required resume-type statements. Candidates must identify and communicate with high-level NASA employees to assist them in expressing and presenting the executive core qualifications (ECQs) necessary to meet Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) requirements for SES certification. Candidates must be able to research and interpret the employee’s experience relative to OPM competency levels.

Candidates must possess extreme professionalism in their ability to work with high-level Federal employees. Candidates must also possess superior organizational abilities to record and track documents and information from NASA Centers and OPM, research and interpret NASA and OPM regulations, maintain reports and presentation materials, track document iterations and status of files, and possess the ability to adjust to changing requirements and time management skills to handle many projects at once.

Candidates must be familiar with using standards and regulations. Candidates must also be creative and familiar with desktop publishing programs, including creating presentations, brochures, posters, and Web site content.

Writing Samples will be requested during the interview process.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.

  • Over 8 years of work experience required.

  • Excellent grammar and writing skills a must.

  • Excellent customer service skills dealing with top-level executives.

  • Ability to research and incorporate related NASA information and NASA and OPM style guidelines.

  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

  • Experience and knowledge of PC-based computers and software experience using the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To have:

  • Presentation and Desktop Publishing experience preferred (Adobe Creative Cloud Suite)

  • Knowledge of HR activities or Federal/Government contracting experience helpful.

  • Project Planning experience a plus.
