_ The Managing Editor Iron Ore will lead Platts pricing and news coverage in one of Asia s largest commodities. The role involves responsibility for an international team of specialists, and for the daily management of the price assessment process. The role also involves a significant amount of client engagement aimed at ensuring the assessment methodology is understood by market participants. You will also be in a thought leadership position, with responsibility for driving excellence in pricing, developing benchmarks and new price assessments as well as producing cutting edge market analysis. You will also be expected to be the voice of the company, speaking at conferences and with the media.
_ This is a key role involving a significant amount of responsibility and ownership, in a market where S&P Global Platts has strongly-established benchmarks.

_ Proven analytical ability and comfortable handing numbers, exceptional energy, tenacity and ambition to excel in a highly-pressured environment, written and verbal communication skills, analysis, and presentation skills. High level of initiative and self-reliance.
Leadership of an international team
Ensure smooth running of daily iron ore assessments
- Gathers commodity price information, produce price assessments - indexes and writes commentary
Assess the value of benchmark prices fully in line with Platts rigorous and published methodologies
Regularly engage market participants, helping showcase Platts expertise in steel raw materials, and to explain our methodology
Reports news stories and analysis on trends affecting market prices
Develops and maintains sources and contacts relevant to the market area of coverage
Minimum of Bachelor s degree or similar level university degree
Excellent English writing skills
Strong analytical skills
Ability to read and write Mandarin a significant advantage
Good organizational planning skills; able to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
Must be comfortable with Microsoft excel and large data sets
Adept at managing multiple tasks and adhering to regular deadlines. Able to prioritize quickly and to readjust priorities throughout the day.
