Our Technical Editor / Writer will create, rewrite and/or edit technical documents for Army, Navy, FMS and Airforce Technical Directive Projects, to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Has a working knowledge Avionics, Electrical, Airframe, Powerplant, Fuel, Gear Box, and Flight controls. Writes the preparation of text, line art, wiring diagrams and charts verifying they conform to specifications. Travel to Customers Facilities to Perform Validations and Verifications on Technical Directives with Customer (Position requires contact with Customers), Attend Program Reviews with Customers, Technical Interchange Meetings with Customer, Deliver Technical Directive. This position requires extensive training (spool up time) to learn the process to be able to handle assignments on their own. To be able to use computer programs Xyvision, Contenta, and Microsoft Word to write Technical Directives. To interpret Engineering drawings into line art and text.
Basic Qualifications Working knowledge Avionics, Electrical, Airframe, Powerplant, Fuel, Gear Box, and Flight controls. Ability to interpret engineering drawings into line art and text. Ability to obtain a Secret level clearance
Desired skills Experience writing complex Technical Directives in all disciplines (Airframe, Electrical, Mechanical, Transmissions, Rotors), Interact with Customers internally and externally. A&P license desired. Experience Writing Technical Directives for US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, and FMS. Use of computer programs Xyvision, Contenta, and Microsoft Word to write Technical Directives a plus.
