The Author Insights team's mission is to help authors earn more. The team owns a number of author-facing features on the KDP web site, including sales reporting and Kindle Unlimited reading reports. Our reports provide the sales data that authors rely on to understand their KDP earning, making our product a key component in building and maintaining author trust. We strive to delight authors with the best tools, and help them sell more books by providing actionable insights into how their customers read their books. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer II (SDE) to bring this vision to life. As an SDE, you will own design and delivery of our new products and features, you will mentor junior engineers on the team, and you will liaise with product team partners to define requirements. You should bring experience designing software for the cloud that can scale horizontally to meet the demands of KDP's huge number of authors. You will be passionate and obsess about providing a premium customer experience, and can balance the need for a high accuracy bar for sales data with the need to innovate and go fast. The ideal candidates will have 5+ years of SDE experience preferably on Java and AWS technologies; those with transferable OOP skills in C#, C++, Python and other cloud platforms are encouraged to apply. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field * 5+ years of professional software development experience * Excellent programming skills in object-oriented languages including C, C++, C#, or Java * Strong fundamentals in core Computer Science areas like Data Structures and Algorithms. * A deep appreciation of scalability issues and high volume data handling.
