The Boeing Company is currently looking for a Technical Pub Editor, based in Cologne (Germany) at Boeing Services Deutschland. Boeing Services Deutschland is a world-leading provider of software and content for ab-initio pilot and technician training. Our more than 50,000 customers include individual pilots, small to very large flight and maintenance schools, fleet operators, and regulatory agencies. Our agile, low-overhead project teams bring together the expertise to execute flight and maintenance training projects from beginning to end – from software development, to graphics work, to aviation and regulatory expertise. The candidate will actively participate and contribute to all the different stages, a product goes through – from planning, over realization, first pass quality assurance and release to maintenance and customer support. Since many of our training materials and customers are German speaking, this role requires besides subject matter expertise in theoretical pilot training also business fluent German language knowledge.

  • Implementation of reviews, corrections and newly authored content to XML
  • Maintaining and enhancing the existing content tool chain by application of resulting changes in the training material and development of new ideas on how to improve quality and stability
  • Communication with customers to find out about current needs or changed requirements to our product line
  • Maintaining our product line by providing expertise and applying it to certain parts of the training material
  • Contribution to new product releases by offering expertise and support to colleagues, including peer review
  • Contributing to new product types and releases by developing training improving ideas

Required Skills: * Completed theoretical pilot training (either privat pilot license (EASA or FAA), commercial pilot license (EASA or FAA) or airline transport pilot license (EASA or FAA) * German language in speech and writing business fluent/native

Desired/Optional Skills: * Experience in HTML or XML * Experience with version control systems like Git * Experience with the Atlassian Software Suite (JIRA, Bamboo, Artifactory,…) * Further aviation related licenses (Maintenance technician, flight instructor, flight dispatcher or others)
