NETE is seeking a highly-motivated, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented Junior Proposal Writer/Editor to join our dynamic team. We are seeking someone who is equally comfortable working independently and as a member of a team. Assist the team with gathering information, synthesizing it, and presenting it in a straightforward and easy to understand format.
Research, revise, and improve technical content prepared by operations or technical staff.
Coordinate and edit technical input from subject matter experts for grammar and clarity.
Interface with technical experts in the research, writing, and publication of various types of documents for various types of audiences.
Involved in creating strong, coherent, consolidated technical documents.
Track and monitor the flow of all documents from inception to distribution of final copies.
Adhere to all client requirements and evaluation factors.
Comply with requisite company formats, standards, policies, and guidelines.
Provide a quality assurance check for all document deliverables.
Develop supporting tables, graphics, and figures.
Identify and correct problem areas as they arise.
Develop outlines, which will be used as a key document for compliance and configuration management.
Assist with research on a variety of assigned topics to develop writing plans and outlines.
Assist in the development of supporting plans, documents, and appendices.
Assist with the development and maintenance of corporate documents.
Write and edit non-technical material such as resumes and corporate experience.
Assist in developing case studies and white papers for marketing purposes and corporate web site.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Journalism, Communications, Computer Science, Business, or related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
0-2 years of Technical Writing experience.
Must have an interest in and knowledge about current IT technology.
Must have the ability to review and correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors. Must have the ability to recognize and correct inconsistencies in style (formatting, capitalization, abbreviations, etc.).
Strong research, writing, proofing, formatting and editing skills, required.
Must have writing, editing, and formatting experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF suite.
Should be a self-starter that can work independently and in a team environment with a proactive service attitude and willingness to take a “hands-on” approach.
Must have the ability to multitask and meet short timelines/deadlines; and at times have the ability to work weekends and holidays to meet proposal deadlines.
Must have a strong commitment to performing and producing at the highest level of quality at all times.
Must be persistent in overcoming challenges to accomplish goals and meet aggressive deadlines.
Knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.
Ability to display professionalism and provide premier customer service to internal and external customers.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies.
Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
