We're hiring a full time Document Manager/Technical Editor for aDepartment of Energy legacy site in Grand Junction, CO. The selectedcandidate will provide document management support for all internal reportsand other client-wide contract reports produced by the corporate documentmanagement organization.Duties include:Under limited review, writes and edits project proposals and biddocuments, documentation to support project deliverables and other technicalreports.Drafts responses to requests for proposals, specifications, and bids forservices or materials, including qualification statements, projectoutlines, cost quote and timeline for the project.Compiles and incorporates technical data into approved format and resolvesinconsistencies in technical data.Assists with developing and writing project and section procedures,schedules and checklists.Provides word processing and document production support.Provides support in information gathering, distribution and control ofprogram/project specific documents.Ensures program and project compliance with records management plans andrequirements.Interfaces with other departments in obtaining needed information.Develops and maintains peer review data library.Visits remedial action sites as necessary to resolve technical data anomalies.Trains and mentors more junior staff.May develop and lead projects.Required knowledge/skills abilities:Comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts, and techniques intechnical writing and editing, word processing and document production.Skill and ability to perform highly complex and critical professional tasksand to solve complex problems.Ability to have major impact on organizational success and productivity,with considerable latitude for independent judgment.Ability to communicate effectively at the highest levels.Ability to develop and lead projects, including defining scope, objectivesand methodsAbility to train and mentor more junior staff.Can be viewed as a capable independent contributor and as competent within thebroad discipline.Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills,reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functionsof the job.Works with a fast pace environment to meet client's deadlinesAbility to multi-task several deadlines and projectsMinimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, BusinessAdministration or related technical discipline withspecialized training in technical communication, or equivalent5-10 years experienceAdvanced MS Word, Excel, SharePoint and Adobe Professional skillsAbility to pass Federal background investigationImpeccable organizational skillsComputer aptitudePreferred qualifications:Certification in MS Word and/or SharePointPortfolios are welcome with resumes.
