This position reports to the Director of Bid Management to create, edit and manage customer facing text for the corporation’s global RFP/Proposal Content Database. The Business Proposal/RFP Database content editor will be responsible for delivering quality writing that is compelling, on point with the win strategy, and meet compliance for best practices and RFPs. The position requires an ability to assimilate large volumes of information, understand technical/operational and environmental issues and standards, and complete work under pressure to meet deadlines.

The Business Proposal/RFP Database Content Editor must be highly organized, demonstrate initiative, and be able to extract key technical and services information from busy professionals. Ability to anticipate problems, develop solutions, and work with strong personalities is paramount. The Business Proposal/RFP Content Editor is a strategic thinker and excellent writer that can craft compelling materials under tight time pressure.


  • Identifies and establishes relationships with internal experts to maintain current and timely information

  • Conducting interviews and research to create clear, persuasive and compliant proposal text

  • Responsible for analyzing the need for updates/maintenance of proposal documentation

  • Editing/proofreading and providing changes to documents (online and hardcopy) to ensure consistency in style, tone, and quality across all proposal related materials

  • Publish to the global RFP Content Management Database on a regular basis to ensure all content is accurate, reflects Mitel’s branding and global policies


  • 5+ years of content writing/editing experience in a higher technology industry

  • Experience in telecommunications industry a plus

  • Outstanding English writing, editing, and communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively on unfamiliar topics with experts

  • Demonstrated ability to work and solve problems under pressure and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines consistently

  • Ability to quickly learn and organize complex technical information

  • Ability to engage in creative problem solving and effectively manage changes in processes and methodologies

  • Present technical concepts in a compelling, persuasive manner

  • Must be highly computer literate and proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) t

  • Must have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and the ability to multi-task while working independently

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Education :

  • 4-year degree in English, Marketing, or related discipline required. A Background in journalism is considered an asset
