The Role: We are seeking an experienced managing editor to manage a geographically diverse team of editors in New York, Chicago, suburban Philadelphia, and Mumbai. The managing editor will be required to fact check, proofread, and polish complex financial reports for our investor clients. The ideal candidate will have experience working with investment research covering structured-finance and corporate credit, including commercial and residential mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, financial institutions, REITs, and other types of fixed income investments. This position may be based in our New York or Horsham, Pennsylvania, office. Responsibilities: Manage a geographically diverse team of editors in New York, Chicago, suburban Philadelphia, and Mumbai. Lead the Morningstar Credit Ratings editorial board, suggesting thought-leadership topics and overseeing the development of research articles from inception to publication with emphasis on sharply written, well-organized, accurate copy. Edit articles and monthly reports for accuracy, sentence structure, organization, grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Fact check, proofread, and edit presale reports for mortgage-backed and asset-backed securitizations, as well as collateralized loan obligations, with strict adherence to publishing deadlines. Ensure all reports adhere to Morningstar style standards.
