SENIOR ASSOCIATE EDITOR, Sloan School of Management-Sloan Management Review (SMR), to serve as the central driver of SMR’s continued evolution as a digital-centric publishing operation, one in which its website, complemented by a range of social media and third-party platforms, form a new hub for increasing its impact and growth. Will develop new forms of digital content, including video and audio programming, interactive content, and data-driven experiences; assume primary ownership of SMR’s Frontiers section, which spans both print and digital editions; ensure that SMR is on the leading edge of new research-based ideas on how digital technology is leading to a revolution in the ways companies operate and produce value; and work closely with digital and marketing team colleagues to incorporate analytics into editorial decision-making and strategy development. The new digital experiences created will draw in new audiences, enable new forms of commercial sponsorship, and accelerate the reach and attractiveness of the SMR brand as a preeminent source of new ideas for business executives.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in English, journalism, or business administration; minimum of five years’ relevant editorial experience with progressing responsibilities; demonstrated ability to translate the work of expert authors for nonexpert audiences; demonstrated empathy for SMR’s executive readership; familiarity with academic research; willingness to try things for which there are no obvious precedents; deep commitment to teamwork; familiarity with a broad range of digital tools, including CMS (e.g., WordPress), data visualization (e.g., Tableau), and video and audio editing; and familiarity with Google Analytics and other digital audience analysis tools.
