Reporting to theDirector, Learning Solutions-Production, the Supervising Editor will be accountable for content production across our suite of digital learning solutions/media from transmittal to go-live. Reporting to Manager, Content Services, the SE works closely with the content development team and external vendors to deliver quality market-driven personalized adaptive learning resources and ancillaries that meet schedule and budget requirements.
This position is to cover a one year maternity leave.
Critical Functions:* *
* Act as product champion, liaising with content development team, subject matter experts, production vendors and digital developers from production transmittal stage to go-live.
* Establish schedules and track dates throughout design and production stages to ensure on-time delivery; communicate and solve issues as they arise.
* Perform final quality checks before output and delivery; for reprints, collaborate with the Quality Associate and Manufacturing Production Coordinator around errata and approve corrections.
* Contribute to digital optimization efforts by embracing new technologies and establishing efficient processes for working with them.
* Oversee product interior and cover design processes to completion.
* Establish, instruct and/or train editorial vendors regarding process, content quality, style, and format along with various platforms to support learning resources. * Maintain relationships with various internal & external parties throughout the production process.
A successful candidate will have: * A post-secondary degree preferably in a related field. * A minimum of two years in product production or related experience. * Proven project management skills. * Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills. * High organization and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. * Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects, managing and meeting competing deadlines. * Ability to work independently and also seamlessly with a variety of internal & external stakeholders. * Demonstration of flexibility by adapting and modeling behaviour in response to changing conditions, processes, and applications. * Recognizes problems or challenges and responds quickly to make timely decisions. * Passion for technology-enabled learning and desire to drive change. * Understanding of digital design is an asset. * Experience working with technology teams in an agile environment an asset. * Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, and Smartsheet; experience with content development online tools is an asset.
