To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Science Writer/Editor (m/f) to join Agilent's Writing Center of Excellence within the Global Content team to undertake a variety of customer-focused writing or editing assignments. This position requires a passion for writing marketing content which is compelling, searchable, technically accurate, and easy to read and translate. Writing is required to be "Global English". Excellent written, grammatical and verbal communication skills are required, with a strong attention to detail. A scientific education or deep interest in science and analytical techniques is essential.
Writing and editing assignments include web copy, brochures, flyers, promotional emails and application notes. Writing for digital content includes a strong focus on writing for search/SEO. Writing and/or editing will be required for all product lines, including analytical instrumentation, consumables, software and service. Also, writing support is required for solutions for key application areas, including food, pharma, environmental, materials and energy and chemicals.
The writer will be required to conduct background reading/research, attend intake meetings and liaise with technical colleagues prior to and during and copywriting. Content development resources include Agilent's Writing Style Guide, the Chicago Manual of Style and the Acrolinx content authoring platform.
Bachelor or Masters degree, or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal English language skills
Ability to create effective marketing messaging
Good theoretical or practical understanding of analytical techniques (especially chromatography, mass spectrometry and spectroscopy)
Well-developed project management and organizational skills
Ability to learn quickly
Understanding of copyright and trademark regulations
Experience of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat/Creative Cloud applications would be helpful
