Technical Editor/Writer

Key Role:Support the performance of research tasks, including data collection, manipulation and presentation, literature search, and interviewing and compile reference or statistical data into standard formats. Accomplish assignments based on general directions with a minimum of supervision and guidance. Apply knowledge of standard research techniques, statistical analysis, and compilation of data and select, analyze, and present data and information in oral, written, or graphics form. Leverage working knowledge of commonly used PC applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases and apply acquired job expertise and company policies and procedures to the completion of assigned tasks. Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature while recognizing the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. Follow established procedures on routine work and take instructions on new assignments.Basic Qualifications:-2+ years of experience with technical writing-Experience with providing technical editing support for a military or DoD organization-Knowledge of Microsoft tools and equivalent editing and publishing software-Ability to manage multiple assignments and set priorities-Ability to work on client site 8AM-5PM M-F-Secret clearance-BA or BS degreeAdditional Qualifications:-Knowledge of government document development processes and formats within AFGM 2017-32-02 and AFI 33-360-Knowledge of different Air Force writing styles and language expertise that considers document audience and intent, including AFI vs. AFMAN or AFMAN 33-337 Tongue and Quill-Possession of excellent work management skills, including managing work independently and setting priorities in collaboration with the client-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including communicating with senior Air Force leaders, such as colonels and GS-15s and aboveClearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
