Apex provides publishing services to many of the largest and most respected publishers in North America and Europe.
Project Managers are responsible for managing book production cycles from receipt of original manuscripts through delivery, ensuring that customers receive high-quality solutions on time, and within budget.
Apex Project Managers are responsible for managing the production of books from the receipt of manuscript to the delivery of final products. Project managers coordinate with authors, publishers, and internal production staff (in the U.S., UK and India) to ensure the completion of projects on time and within the project budget.
This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask, the ability to learn new technologies, strong knowledge of production processes, and management of art programs and composition.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, as well as a dedication to getting the job done. S/he will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work independently. The candidate must have the ability to monitor project schedule and budget, through project life cycle. Also desired is a candidate that is skilled at lessons learned and schedule analysis.
Bachelor's Degree required
4+ years’ experience in project management
Experience with publishing processes
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Experience with Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, XML/HTML are a plus
Strong editorial knowledge is a plus but not required
