Job Description Renaissance Learning is now hiring for a K-12 math editor. Renaissance Learning is a cloud-based, SaaS solutions provider to K-12 education worldwide. After nearly 30 years of innovation in K-12 we continue to expand as we transform the education landscape through market-disrupting solutions. A math editor applies editorial, content area, and pedagogical skills and knowledge to content development and curation to ensure development meets acceptance criteria including quality and accuracy; adherence to content appropriateness guidelines, pedagogical theory, and universal design criteria; and engaging and innovative student experiences. A Math Editor identifies areas for content improvement and serves as a trainer and mentor for content development team members. Fluency in Spanish would be a plus. Essential functions: Applies the fundamental concepts of editing; applies content-area knowledge to editorial tasks Maintains RLI product knowledge Problem solves to remove work stoppage barriers Provide clear and concise feedback to others in spoken and written forms Confer with writers and editors regarding changes made to submitted content to ensure continuous improvement in the quality of the work Consult regarding individual project needs Apply editorial skills to content development Ensure content meets development specifications Contributes to content specifications Applies knowledge of state standards to content development Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Mathematics from a four-year college or university; eight or more years experience and or training in any of the following focusing on K-12: teaching mathematics, mathematics curriculum development, editing experience for mathematical assessments, content development for education publishing or software, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
