Amazon.com Social Media Editor in Seattle, Washington

Amazon is seeking a highly-intelligent, high-judgment, self-motivated, and creative professional to help drive our social media activities in support of our corporate communications goals. The right candidate will be passionate, creative, strategic, and a self-starter who's willing and able to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done. They'll be excited about working with people across the Global Corporate Affairs organization to create content which educates key audiences about important Amazon activities, events, and milestones, and to amplify our PR efforts.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Source, create, and publish timely content for various audiences to educate them about key Amazon activities, events, milestones and PR efforts;

  • Use social media to drive awareness of and traffic to key stories and websites;

  • Be responsive to breaking events which provide Amazon an opportunity to tell our story;

  • Manage accounts on various social media platforms, using them effectively for various efforts throughout the year;

  • Monthly reporting on activities, including insights which help sculpt and drive content moving forward;

  • Earn trust internally and externally with many different audiences and stakeholders.

    Proven ability, willingness, and desire to:

  • Be creative and develop engaging social media content that's aligned with the company brand;

  • Exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes;

  • 3+ years of experience creating and executing social media, PR, and/or marketing strategies;

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;

  • Demonstrated capability to create copy and imagery for targeted audiences and to support stated goals;

  • Hands-on experience publishing to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., and using social publishing and measurement tools

  • BA/BS degree

  • Ability to create and manipulate content for publishing, include photography and videography, using creative software suites such as Adobe;

  • Proven experience with paid social media campaigns;

  • Masters or equivalent in a journalism or creative field
