The Senior Web Editor is a critical and valuable part of our team. This position works with Web Managers to define, implement and maintain usability standards for the organization's web sites by applying a broad understanding of current and emerging web communication strategies, technologies and best practices. The Senior Web Editor consults with key individuals throughout the organization to assess their business needs and proposes web-based solutions that ensure that user needs, quality and content standards are met and maintained, plays a key role in conceptual design and implementation of web content and user interfaces and applications for organizations website and analyzes web traffic to determine effectiveness of the organization's web presence.

Our idea candidate will possess: • Excellent HTML skills and basic knowledge of CSS • Experience using content management systems to create and maintain web pages • Outstanding writing and editing skills for web; ability to write and edit clear, concise, and accurate content appropriate for the target audience —including metadata, alt text, and headlines • Understanding of user-centered design principles and a strong background in web usability/navigation and user experience • Familiar with AP Style and able to quickly ramp up and adhere to company’s brand, editorial, and web standards Qualifications: Education Minimum Education Requirements Some college field of study in Journalism, Communications, Library Science, User Interface Design/Usability, Computer Science or related field. Comparable education and training may be acceptable. Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree in Journalism, Communications, Library Science, User Interface Design/Usability, Computer Science or related field. Preferred Knowledge/Skills Intermediate In-depth working knowledge/experience with WYSIWYG editors (Dreamweaver, Contribute). Knowledge of web programming (CSS, HTML, JavaScript) and familiarity with graphics programming and design (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, InDesign) preferred.

Experience Minimum Experience Requirements 5 years of recent and demonstrable experience in web content development and writing and editing for the web; including web site administration, user-centered design and interactive applications. Preferred Experience 7 years of recent and demonstrable experience in web content development and writing for the web; including web site administration, user-centered design and interactive applications. Experience maintaining a corporate website (external and/or internal) preferred. Experience with a healthcare and/or insurance organization.
