WQED Multimedia Web Content Editor (Part-Time) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

WQED is seeking a Digital Content Editor with an eye for design. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining web content surrounding WQED projects and initiatives. Responsibilities: Create and update web content. Work with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information. Edit copy to be appropriately concise for web. Create landing pages for local initiatives. Lay out content within existing templates to optimally convey information to the user. Create and edit digital images. Use image editing software to create localized versions of national productions. Use stock and/or original images to create in-house calls to action. Update design and layout of current site as necessary. Create new templates and/or update existing ones. Ensure site stays current with best practices regarding accessibility and responsive design. Required education and skills: Bachelor's Degree is required. 3 to 5 years of relevant experience required. Knowledge of basic video production, Photoshop, Illustrator and other design tools and Premier or similar editing tools. Excellent communication, organization, multi-tasking and time management skills. Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with Interactive team. Ability to set and meet critical project deadlines. Ability to think creatively and strategically in problem-solving and developing new solutions.
