Lockheed Martin Technical Writer/Editor in Palmdale, California

Working under guidance of Lead Writer, prepare, update, and maintain maintenance manual procedures for mechanical/structural systems and equipment for U-2 aircraft and mission systems. Also working under guidance, prepare, update, and maintain flight manuals and checklists for U-2 aircraft and mission systems. Using engineering drawings, system specifications and other source documentation, develop procedures, fault isolation trees, repairs, and figures to support maintenance and operation of equipment. Participate in validation of procedures. Contribute to development of time compliance technical order procedures. Salary $58,000.00 to $76,000.00 depending upon skills and experience.

Basic Qualifications Familiarity with aircraft mechanical systems and equipment.

Experience writing technical descriptions and procedures.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired skills Expertise with digital authoring tools such as EPIC, Isodraw, Astoria.

Skill preparing technical illustrations using digital drawing tools.

Familiarity with Air Force technical manual standards and specifications.

Familiarity with U-2 airframe and systems.
