Hearst Magazines Video Editor/Motion Graphics in New York, New York

BestProducts.com is seeking an ‘in the know’ full time video editor heavy in motion graphics skills to join its brand-spanking new video team. This person will be responsible for editing original video content for our social media platforms while adding motion graphics, animations, and gifs to make it sparkle. They must be an experienced motion graphics designer and excel in video editing.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated passion for products, events, places, and experiences that are unbelievable, quirky, awe-inducing – and most importantly, make viewers want to say ‘look how cool this is!’ and then share with all their friends. The candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a scrappy team that forms our video voice and aesthetic.


• Edit videos while adding graphics for that ‘holy sh*t, that’s cool’ factor

• Create short form motion graphics animations and gifs

• Communicate with video production staff to fulfill graphics requests

• Work on projects from concept to production, making sure to meet brand standards and timelines

• Find amazing products and event footage that can be compiled into short form videos with the addition of graphics, gifs, and clips


• 2-5 years of experience video editing and designing for online media

• Motion graphics experience

• 1+ years experience shooting and lighting techniques

• Excellent at using typography and type design

• Good eye for tasteful yet cutting edge design

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

• Excellent at producing editing shareable, digital-friendly content

• Familiar with pop culture, tech, fashion, trends

• Proficient in Adobe CS, specifically After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop

• Basic audio editing, music selection and sound effects

• Must include a link to view your work

• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere

• Knowledge of compression standards across multiple platforms

• Knowledge of online video and social video

• Must be able to manage feedback from multiple parties and deal with curve balls
