Job Description

The National Desk is seeking a Deputy-level editor who will help manage one of the most celebrated groups of national correspondents in the industry.

The position requires solid news judgment, a knowledge of national issues and politics and an ability to lead correspondents in covering breaking news and attention-getting enterprise. This editor will help the national editor in the desk's ongoing transformation into a digital-first operation. A strategic thinker is required as this editor will represent National in newsroom-wide meetings and provide advice on issues concerning deployment and career development. You should have a start-up mentality, experience guiding a creative team and proof of successful audience engagement. The ability to conceive and help deliver impactful long-form journalism is key.
