Become a part of the voice of our hospital, in consultation with the Vice President, Directors, Managers and other media relations staff, to create original, written content and develop story ideas that bring positive media attention to our organization. Create and oversee written communication strategy and respective approvals for press releases, news announcements, and senior leadership communications. Provide guidance to media relations staff in their production of written press materials, including pitches, press statements, medical expert alerts, and press conference announcements to ensure consistent style and appropriate messaging. Build relationships with corporate and clinical teams as you navigate across the hospital enterprise and affiliated academic medical centers.

Preferred Criteria

  • At least 5 to 7 years of writing or public affairs experience in a hospital, academic medical center, or matrix healthcare-related setting

  • Experience with press releases and related approval processes

  • Experience with project management and staff management

  • Ability to write in any voice or style- familiarity with AP style is preferred

  • Ability to translate with medical terminology into lay language
