The editor will be expected to work independently in a promotional agency environment with assigned brand teams to enforce quality control across core editorial functions (editing, factchecking, proofreading) and provide some guidance to Junior Editor/Editor-level staff. Has worked on at least one launching product and is familiar with a range of product categories and therapeutic classes.
Second-Shift Editor to provide guidance to second-shift Jr Editor/Editor-level staff. Editor will provide day-to-day managerial support as needed, including co-monitoring workflow to aid Second-Shift Editorial Manager with prioritizing and delegating to other second-shift editors. Assumes managerial responsibility in absence of Second-Shift Editorial Manager: prioritizing and expediting workflow, troubleshooting content and process issues, and maintaining communication with producers, brand editors, and team members as needed. Identifies, communicates, and offers solutions for areas of second-shift and departmental improvement. Serves as editorial point person for new business initiatives (presentation decks, concepts, branding materials) in absence of Second-Shift Editorial Manager.
Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and AMA style
Familiar with FDA compliance mandates for pharma promotions
Familiarity with a variety of product categories and therapeutic classes Prior launch experience
Competency in current and relevant computer-related technologies and applications (PDF markup in Adobe Acrobat, electronic routing)
