Amazon.com Marketing Manager, Amazon Publishing in Munich, Germany

Amazon Publishing is looking for an experienced marketing or merchandising manager to execute and report our German promotional events. This individual will work closely with Amazon Publishing's Business Analytics, Marketing, and Merchandising teams to understand and implement promotional strategies for our titles in Germany and around the world. This individual will act as a subject matter expert on both internal (our titles and strategies) and external (competitor data, market trends, etc.) promotional concerns.

This position will be based at the Amazon offices in Munich.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Management (KU, Prime Reading)

  • Close collaboration with Kindle team and Books team

  • Own and drive new APUB and Kindle/ Books projects, manage stakeholders at an EU level

  • Optimize the existing promotion schedule for Amazon Publishing

  • Work closely with several Amazon Publishing teams to select titles, plan and execute marketing promotions

  • Serve as an internal expert and act as a POC on all promotional questions and issues.

  • Own and simplify the whole promotion process.

  • Identify trends and opportunities for promotional improvements.

  • Audit pricing for Amazon Publishing titles to ensure constant accuracy.

  • Assist Marketing team with ad hoc research and reports as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Fluency in English, existing German skills

  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills (includes the ability to effectively use tools such as Excel and Access) and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses.

  • Basic to medium SQL writing skills, with the willingness to develope

  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects while still delivering timely and accurate results.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills along with the ability to work cross-functionally with an international team.

  • Ability to quickly learn complex tools and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS required

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent project management skills, including work prioritization, planning and task delegation

  • Familiarity and comfort with statistics.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired and ambiguity is the norm.
