If you are a curious, motivated multimedia journalist committed to building compelling and engaging content across a variety of channels, IBM’s Brand & Communications team in Canada has your next career opportunity.IBM has an immediate opening on its internal communications team for a strong communicator who blends impeccable written and oral communications skills with a flair for design, multimedia production, video storytelling and editing, and a strong passion for engaging storytelling that motivates the audience.The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple projects to deadline and have 5-8 years professional background in multimedia journalism, digital communications or a related area with proven agility to orchestrate multiple stories from multiple sources and strong precision editing capabilities across multimedia formats. Beginner to intermediate multimedia design skills are essential.Bilingualism is an asset.The successful candidate will collaborate with members of the local and global external relations and internal communications teams and the Canadian marketing team. The successful candidate must have the proven ability to orchestrate multiple stories from multiple sources, impeccable writing to deadline, precision editing in multimedia formats, multimedia design skills (beginner to intermediate), intermediate understanding of social channels and digital media, journalism, digital communications or communications graduate.Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience in multimedia journalism, communications, digital communications or related discipline

  • At least 3-5 years experience in internal communications/employee engagement or multimedia journalism.

  • Intermediate knowledge in research data, facts, trends, examples, stories, and the ability to write for diverse audiences with sensitivity to cultural norms

  • At least 3-4 years experience in social media and digital storytelling across a variety of multimedia channels

  • Proven ability to write impeccably to deadline across a variety of formats like blogs and videos.

  • Deep understanding of intermediate design principles for social tile, ecard or blog creation

  • Readiness to travel 10% travel annually

  • English: Fluent

Preferred

  • At least 8 years experience in internal communications/employee engagement or multimedia journalism.

  • At least 4 years experience in research data, facts, trends, examples, stories, and the ability to write for diverse audiences with sensitivity to cultural norms

  • At least 3 years experience in social media and digital trends
