Job Description SummarySupport management by researching and verifying information used to create content for internal and/or external use. Write summaries of research findings, priority issues and new developments. Draft materials for management to review, edit and finalize. This is an entry-level hourly position with The Transamerica Center for Health Studies. The Transamerica Center for Health Studies (TCHS) informs the national health care conversation by bringing clarity to the complex decision-making regarding health coverage and personal health and wellness. Through its broad-based analysis and research findings, the Transamerica Center for Health Studies offers consumers and employers a guide to navigate the financial implications of the health care decisions they are facing. The Transamerica Center for Health Studies engages with the American public through national surveys, its website, research findings and consumer guidance. TCHS also collaborates with health care experts and organizations that are equally focused on health coverage and personal health and wellness. The Transamerica Center for Health Studies (TCHS) is a division of the Transamerica Institute, a nonprofit, private foundation. The Transamerica Institute is funded by contributions from Transamerica Life Insurance Company (not a major medical insurer) and its affiliates and may receive funds from unaffiliated third parties.Job Description
Research and create content used to educate consumers and employees about health coverage, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and personal health and wellness.
Research health care, health policy, and public health issues to create content.
Update content to websites and social media outlets.
Identify new sources for information.
Interact with research and digital media teams for subject matter expertise as needed.
Work with the public relations team to prepare written materials for press (releases, fact sheets, charts, etc.).
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, public health or equivalent education/experience.
Copywriting and editing skills across a range of media and writing styles.
Research skills and attention to detail.
Interpersonal skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Proficiency using MS Office tools.
Knowledge and experience with various social media outlets and marketing.
Knowledge and understanding of health care, health policy, and/or public health.
Work experience in the health policy, health insurance, public health, or related experience.
Experience with survey/polls and analytics.
Experience with website development and content management.
Familiarity with social network media.
Fluency in Spanish to convert written material for publication.
Behavioral & Leadership Competencies
