Position Summary:

Working as an independent contractor from home, the High School Indiana Studies Curriculum Content Editor will work with the Curriculum Content Writer and curriculum and editorial teams to ensure quality and accuracy of content and to become familiar with

and apply Connections Education general editorial style guidelines.

Effective communication with the Product Development Management team, other Curriculum Specialists, and Editors is essential.

Candidates with background knowledge and expertise in online learning, curriculum development, Section 508 standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and learning management platforms are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and verify content

  • Review course outlines to ensure alignment to specific requirements

  • Review lessons for alignment

  • Critique lessons, suggest enhancements, and apply revisions

  • Review design and development of innovative instructional strategies to teach concepts and skills

  • Collaborate with the curriculum development and editorial teams to develop a comprehensive and consistent academic program

  • Review interactive/online courses according to predetermined criteria in an online/Web-based format

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

These contractual positions are temporary and are usually paid per piece. These positions will be home-based and may be part-time or full-time.

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social studies, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred

  • Experience teaching and delivering instructional material

  • Experience using Bloom’s Taxonomy and Webb’s Depth of Knowledge to develop content that meets the needs of students on multiple levels of learning

  • Accessibility writing or editing is a plus

  • Experience in online learning platforms is a plus

  • Must enjoy a challenging work environment that requires significant flexibility, self-direction, and creativity

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft® Office® programs and the Google® suite of tools)

  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail skills

  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines

  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
