BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate will conduct organized analytical assessments and evaluations to understand and/or evaluate complex issues to inform decision making, policy development, system development, management, or administration of client processes. He or she performs studies, analyses, and evaluations across a wide variety of domains and provides recommendations to client organizations to improve the organization’s mission performance and supports development and execution of programs to implement solutions.
SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION
ANSER is seeking a Technical Editor to join our Media Services team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will:
Write and/or edit technical documents, including business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements.
Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations.
Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables.
Coordinate with graphics specialists to integrate graphics and text into the final layout in accordance with established guidance/procedures.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Secret Clearance for this role
Prior federal consulting experience
Responsible for editorial oversight of all media production
Reads analytical products for editorial review
Tracks the publication peer review process
Supports classified and unclassified dissemination
Supports the Program Web Page and program administrative records for analyzing workflow and efficiency
Individual must possess at least 15 years of experience and a mastery of editorial and publishing techniques
Working knowledge of typography, layout, and design theory and requirements to format publications, integrate text and graphics, and a comprehensive computer literacy in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other types of publishing associated software to process and produce a wide range of documents, including assessments, graphs, and charts, that enhance quality and content of reports and visual presentations.
Individual must have proven experience in writing and editing documents, excellent grammar, and strong skills in report writing. Knowledge of problem-solving processes and techniques; statistical analysis interpretation and idea generation techniques (e.g., brainstorming); and research techniques (e.g., data query, library/file search, on-line research) is desired.
