Focus on the Family Boundless Editor/Project Manager in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Boundless Editor/Project Managerposition exists to ensure that all Boundless content, targeted at Christian singles who comprise the families of tomorrow, is culturally relevant and produced accurately, efficiently, creatively and in a timely manner, and in a manner consistent with biblical principles. This position also oversees and manages the creative development, writing, and design of all Boundless channels, including web, emails, e-newsletters, products, and programs. This position also cooperates with the Director of Marriage and Family Formation to move Boundless and Young Adult projects, events, programs and products through the creation, development, and distribution stages.

* Essential Duties/Responsibilities:*

Schedules, assigns, oversees, edits, and publishes written content (articles/blogs/columns/emails/social media//other) that is biblically-based, relevant and effective for young adult audiences and in keeping with the Boundless mission and core competencies. Assists where applicable in creation and distribution of audio and video content, to include podcasts, radio, webcasts, videos and more

Creates and maintains comprehensive annual content calendar for all Boundless written channels, and assists in coordinating necessary elements of audio and video channels

Solicits and coordinates all copy from freelance writers, both paid and volunteers, and follows up with necessary invoicing and payment procedures

Contributes as a resource and voice to Boundless channels including the blog and podcast

Manages Boundless’ social media and web presence to include Facebook and Twitter as well as contributions to other web entities

Organizes and runs production, editorial and design meetings

Organizes and distributes giveaways, promotional materials and contests for Boundless audience

Reviews a wide range of periodicals and Internet sites for research and commentary relevant to the mission and objectives of Boundless

Manages workflow of key Boundless programs, products, and initiatives to move them toward completion and successful distribution

Assists in design and maintenance of Boundless website, including ad placement, coding and graphics

Answers correspondence from readers/listeners in accordance with Focus on the Family’s constituent-response style

Consults with the legal department as necessary related to permissions and intellectual property questions

Assists Director with all activities related to Boundless integration and strategic alignment with other ministry areas including CRM, marketing and Family Formation areas, among others

Represents Boundless and the Young Adult ministry of Focus on the Family at conferences, trade shows, donor events and other venues as necessary

Conducts first-hand research and maintains contact lists

Adapts existing material for other Focus publications as needed

Assists Director and support staff with department budget management and tracking

* Other Duties/Responsibilities:*

Keeps Director abreast of all issues as they relate to the publication of Boundless, its articles, reviews, advertisements, etc. Performs other duties, including but not limited to duties as assigned, some of which may include the development and creation of a variety of copyrightable works (e.g., print, photography, film, music, visual arts, etc.) for distribution in any and all media and formats (such as television, radio, internet, wireless, DVD, satellite and digital) on a world-wide basis, all of which shall be for the benefit of Focus on the Family

* Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:*

Manages the writing and artistic personnel, both contracted and volunteers, that compose the Boundless department

Office environment; occasional travel and offsite events

* Knowledge/Experience:*

Bachelor's Degree in any subject & significant experience in Journalism, English, or Communications 3-5 years of successful writing and editing experience to include significant content management, magazine editorial, and/or web editorial experience Working knowledge of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives
