Job Summary:

Compass Group has a Great Opportunity for career development as a part of our Business Services Creative Team, as a Content Copywriter/Editor. This position provides support for the editing/proofreading and writing of sales content for proposals, presentation and collateral for Compass Group. This position is a part of a team that coordinates the development of high-quality sales proposals and special projects to meet the objectives of increased business and organic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to edit and develop copy to support Creative Team and sales representatives.

  • Manage the process of extracting good narrative from proposals, gaining subject matter information and creating content

  • Ability to consult with SMEs to gather and coordinate information needed to write custom content based on information available

  • Partners with Creative and Sales team members to achieve creative concept, when applicable

  • Proof read and edit responses - Demonstrate attention to detail

  • Ensure proper use and integrity of Compass Group and division names/logos/imagery

  • Constantly check internal sources to keep up-to-date on new information/messages around information that frequently needs to be incorporated in our materials

  • Develop and review content in conjunction with other departments to contribute to the knowledge library using the agreed naming conventions and ensure consistency

  • Interact with project specialists, graphic designers and digital medial producers to create and review all content, ensure consistent message and responses answer client questions and requirements

  • Create copy/editorial guidelines for all customer facing materials - Develop and publish clear style guides for use in writing content for all future materials

  • Develop a best practice writing techniques guide and facilitate training session to all new sales reps and strategic partners

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of copy editing experience is required

  • Proposal Environment experience desirable

  • Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time

  • Experience/consistent performance in deadline-oriented environment due to tight time restraints and volume of work in heavy proposal seasons

  • Travel up to 50%

  • Excellent verbal communications skills

  • Strong organizational skills - Experience in project management

  • Inquisitive and Self-assured

  • Team player: work with entire Creative Team to achieve deadlines

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel particularly)

  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign

  • Knowledge of AP style is required
