Senior Technical Communications Content Editor Canonsburg, PA JOB SUMMARY The Senior Technical Communications Content Editor works across the organization to understand ANSYS goals and strategies, then assists in the development of content in the right voice for the specific audience; the most frequent target is engineers who use simulation software to predict how product designs react to physical forces. The position combines content editing (engineering, scientific, general, corporate, marketing and technical) with project planning/management, research and program support to produce brand and message consistency. This position works with all of corporate communications (web, graphics, social media, PR, events, video) as well as with other internal departments (such as product/program marketing, customer support, documentation) to set the tone/style for company and regional campaigns (via staff and freelancers) as well as to establish and enforce style guidelines and standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Edit, proofread and coordinate distribution/completion of a variety of engineering materials: white papers, technical briefs, ANSYS magazine, customer case studies, web text, brochures, blogs and emails Enforce brand guidelines and formatting styles through review workflow and content quality Identify, prioritize and repurpose content for all channels and audiences Work with content team, marketing program and product teams to ensure corporate style/tone, proper grammar, consistent flow, organization and SEO keywords are incorporated throughout content materials Update and maintain templates, provide writing best-practices and ensure AP Style Review drafts and final documents, provide best-practice guidance and suggestions to content contributors Work with marketing program/product teams to achieve campaign goals Work with designers, web team, PR, and social media teams to review and edit materials contributed by technical team Ensure appropriate images and customer permissions Contribute to promotional efforts for these materials Meet time and budget guidelines Develop/implement guidelines to measure success and effectiveness Contribute to efforts to make the department more efficient JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Seven years experience as a technical content editor in a business setting Proficient copy editing and proofreading skills, AP Style and Microsoft Word Experience working with and understanding technical content Bachelor s degree in engineering, marketing, writing or related field A demonstrated capaci
