Technology Marketing Team whose charter is to manage Akamai’s digital properties and demonstrate Akamai’s value and thought leadership to current and prospective customers, employees, and investors by delivering compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and interactive Marketing tools and the public facing web properties.
About the Job
A Web Content Publisher at Akamai is charged with overseeing, approving and creating content for Akamai Digital Properties using the Content Management System. He/she will be responsible for building and maintaining web content, interactive tools, and online experiences that build the Akamai brand and generate new business opportunities.
As a Senior Web Content Publisher, your responsibilities will include:
o Create, develop, manage and QA content for Akamai web properties utilizing the web content management system (SDL Tridion 2011).
o Analyze and coordinate digital project requests for Akamai web properties (primarily Akamai.com, or other microsites) and work with the global marketing team to schedule web content updates.
o Reviewing content published by other publishers focusing on consistency in design and brand messaging when working through the content provided by the global requestors.
o Curate overall Akamai digital customer experience, to maintain a consistent tone and branding throughout all web properties.
o Excellent troubleshooting skills; identifying issues with the web content management system or content to be deployed and flagging them, ensuring timely resolution.
o Analyze and recommend content management system process improvements and work with web development/QA team to review and implement.
o Develop understanding of the Akamai Digital Marketing Ecosystem and contribute to Akamai.com enhancement plan.
o Utilize analytics and reporting to evaluate performance on experiences and provide recommendations on low/no value work.
o Manage a high volume of projects and last minute requests that requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize a fluctuating workload.
o Effectively communicates on project status, deliverables and upcoming deadlines to creative and business teams.
o Build collaborative partnerships with business leads and cross-functional teams and demonstrate category expertise. Identify and share out best practices.
o Demonstrate exceptional editorial judgment and attention to detail.
o Prepare reports on various topics (such as progress against currentness) and communicates them to management.
RequiredEducation and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
6+ years of relevant work experience in a global matrixed organization
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience with website content management tools, preferably SDL Tridion, or another component based platform (Adobe CQ5/ACE or Oracle WCM).
Experience with web content translation/localization processes and managing multiple global websites.
Basic working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience managing content and production for websites.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience using issue/project tracking and collaboration tools, such as JIRA Software.
Minimum of 2+ years of leading a team, ideally publishers/content managers.
Strong time-management and organizational skills.
Proactive and solutions oriented, willing to take ownership of projects and balance multiple projects and processes simultaneously seeing all through to completion.
Highly-motivated self-starter with developed ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
A team player, with the ability to excel in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Good leadership skills and ability to mentor new team members.
Familiar with SEO/SEM techniques and best practices.
Experience with Google Analytics desired.
Japanese or German language proficiency
