Technical Writer/Editor (Cleared)
- ARServices is seeking an experienced Technical Writer. This professional will be a member of a team to provide professional, technical, and administrative support to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV). The OPNAV staff establishes policies, provides sufficient resources, and ensures combat-ready Naval forces to enhance U.S. maritime capabilities through forward presence, power projection, deterrence, sea control, maritime security, and humanitarian assistance/disaster response.
The scope of this contract is the review of the current OPNAV organization structure and practices in the specific areas of Process Design and Documentation, Communication Strategy, and Management Execution/Performance Improvements, as well as the development of recommendations for the implementation. The specific requirement is to review and analyze existing organizational activities and facilitate improvements. This effort includes support for production of process reference material and the development of the workforce.
The individual filling this position will typically work 8 hours per day within normal working hours of 0730-1700, both at the contractor site and Pentagon.
Compile and edit weekly and monthly status reports
Record periodic working group discussions and compile and edit after action reports
Research and develop technical documentation and training materials in support of OPNAV major business processes
Research and gather information for use in technical documentation and outreach materials
Prepare and develop technical articles, publications and other material to communicate clearly and effectively to a wide range of stakeholders
Proofread, revise, rewrite and edit presentations, reports, publications, policies and manuals for senior leadership
Duties will also include in participating, writing and reviewing of technical proposals.
Must be prepared to support emergent and short suspense tasking with immediate work turn around
Ability to maintain current Secret Clearance is required
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years' of experience preparing and proofing technical documents within the DOD environment
Experience in technical writing, technical editing, document change management, and formatting in Navy correspondence preferred
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Additional experience with Visio, MS Project and SharePoint preferred
Outstanding written, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with senior personnel
Must be a self-starter that works well with a team and adapts to dynamic environment changes
