GET, INC. & GET-NSA, LLC Safety Basis Technical Editor in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Global Engineering & Technology, Inc. (GET) is responding to a request for personnel from Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) for a Safety Basis Technical Editor.
This critical position is responsible for providing Nuclear Safety Documentation and Analysis support as required to prepare and review Nuclear Criticality Safety Analyses and related methods of fissile material assessments at Sandia National Laboratories.
The ideal candidate shall:
Demonstrate a high level of accountability and technical knowledge and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Review technical documents, codes, standards and regulations to excise requirements applicable to a specific task
Develop/edit technical documents and reports
Proof read technical documents developed by other professionals
Participate in meetings, table top discussions, and reviews of planned activities
Provide critical administrative support to the Program Manager and Project Managers
Provide effective mentoring of younger Technical Document Specialists
- Current DoE 'Q' security clearance (or DoD 'Top Secret' security clearance)
Although a Master's degree in Science and/or Engineering is preferred, an equivalent combination of relevant experience, demonstrated performance, and education may substitute for degree requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or similar Engineering field
- A minimum of 5 years' Safety Basis technical editing experience related to Sandia's nuclear facilities and interfacing with Sandia's Nuclear Facility Safety Committee structure, or equivalent
Previous experience and training in the following areas may be required for personnel supporting this task:
Calculation Methods - Theory
Critical Experiments & Data - Theory
Process Criticality Accidents, Handbook values (LA-10860, LA-12808, ARH-600)
Direct use of benchmark data
Simple hand calculations
Use of empirically derived formulas
The candidate must be capable of managing change while maintaining very high technical and ethical standards
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential
